About Me

Before assuming his current role as Deputy Chief, Office Division with the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-1 in Washington, DC, Army officer Alex Gallegos of Idaho served two years as the commander of the 101st Special Troops Battalion (101st STB) of the 101st Airborne Division (AASLT) at Fort Campbell in Kentucky. This position placed him in charge of four specialized 101st STB companies (the Headquarters and Headquarters Company, the Human Resources Company, the Financial Management Support Unit, the 58th Signal Company), the 9th Theater Gateway, and the 101st Airborne Division (AASLT) and Fort Campbell Defense Military Pay Office. His accomplishments with the 101st STB earned him several distinguished honors including the Armed Forces Service Medal, two Meritorious Service Medals, and the Army Superior Unit Award.

Other highlights of Lt. Col. Alex Gallegos’ military career include tenures as a personnel policy integrator at Headquarters, Department of the Army in Washington, DC, and numerous positions within the US Army Special Operations Command at Fort Bragg in North Carolina. He holds a master of arts in human resources from Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri, and a master of arts in national security and strategic studies from the Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island.
